Where are you located?
I am currently based in Defiance, MO which is part of the greater St. Louis area. I cover sessions in all of the STL area and am happy to travel to any location for an additional fee. I travel back to Jefferson City fairly often and try to incorporate client sessions when I am back to see family to save my JC clients’ travel fees.
What locations do you use for sessions?
When you schedule with me we will discuss your dream location and decide on a perfect location to make that vision become a reality. I have many outdoor locations I like to utilize but I am ALWAYS excited to try a new spot. This includes public parts as well as private property we have permission to use. I love to use a family’s own home for a unique and completely personalized session.
What kinds of products do you offer?
My goal is for you to enjoy printed photographs in your home so your beautiful, valuable memories don’t sit in your computer with the other millions of digital images you currently have there and on your phone. I offer traditional desk portraits for small frames, wall portraits, and canvases to decorate your home with Portraiture as well as custom-created albums and print portfolios for those times when you have a large number of favorites you want as family heirlooms.
Do you have a studio?
I currently do not have a dedicated studio space as I have in the past. However, a portable studio is an option for an indoor location with enough space for setting up. My client’s home for a lifestyle session is so endearing, I’m sure you’ll love that as an option, too.
What should I/we wear?
After you schedule your session with me I will be sending you a professional style guide (which is always being updated) to help you coordinate your clothing to help me create the most beautiful portraits. You must take my suggestions for do’s and don’ts so it’s possible for me to create those Pinterest-worthy images.
How long does a session take?
On average most sessions for families, engagements, and children are scheduled for 45-90 minutes. We will discuss your needs during your phone consultation so we can best determine the time frame for your session. High school senior sessions start at 90 minutes up to 3 hours depending on how many outfit changes and locations your student desires.
What about the weather?
I wish I could control the weather, but so far I have not been able to manifest that skill. If it rains or is just way too cold to shoot outdoors (red noses are difficult to edit to look natural) then your session will be rescheduled at no additional charge.
Do you offer digital files?
Yes, I have packages of high-rez digital files and also gift you a social media-sized digital file of any image you order in a print, canvas, wall portrait, or printed album.
What is the difference between “edited” and “retouched”?
All images are professionally edited and retouched in-house by your photographer. I do not outsource my editing or retouching. All images will be edited before you see them. This is done to make the images look their very best instead of straight out of the camera. Images will be culled down to the best of the best and then color, contrast, density, highlights, saturation, and clarity are all addressed to create images in my editing style (which is what you see in my sample images on this site and social media). Retouching is that extra finishing step for a truly professional product. Retouching smooths wrinkles whitens teeth, smooths flyaway hairs, perfects minor clothing imperfections, removes distractions from the photo, and more.
Do you have a Client Closet?
YES! I have a few dresses to choose from that would look great for your session. I am working to build a more extensive selection for my clients and offer my clients trade to acquire new pieces. Reach out to me if you are interested to see what I have available or how you can benefit by helping me add to my closet.
Do you offer payment plans?
YES! I know that professional photography is a luxury expense but I am here to help you make that possible with every budget. Pre-payment plans are available for sessions as well as print and album orders. Session fees must be paid in full before the session and print orders will have to be paid in full before they are sent to the lab. Talk to me about your budget and we can establish a timeline to make your dreams come true with your session.
